AFGHANISTAN. AN URGENT APPEAL TO EU FOR AFGHAN SCHOLARS AND RESEARCHERS Stampa

About 50 higher education associations, networks and leaders have issued an urgent appeal to European governments and European Union institutions to take action for Afghanistan's scholars, researchers and civil society actors. The appeal calls for a number of urgent actions to be taken, including continuing evacuation flights; increasing resettlement quotas; creating expedited complementary legal pathways for candidates with an existing host institution, job or sponsor; waiving any intent-to-return and home residency requirements applying to visa applications for afghan scholars and researchers; establishing a dedicated EU fellowship scheme for researchers and scholars at risk, especially women and religious minorities; and establishing dedicated national fellowships.
