Organized in partnership with the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, the IAU 14th General Conference will offer participants a Thematic Programme examining the role of higher education and research in addressing the numerous and critical challenges on the ‘global agenda’. In plenary and concurrent sessions, leaders of higher education will consider the responsibilities of higher education institutions to contribute to meeting such objectives as the Millennium Development Goals; they will debate different funding models and how they steer the development of higher education; they will question the new internationalization agenda.
