The CWTS (Centre for Science and Technology Studies) Leiden Ranking is an online platform that offers important insights into the scientific performance of over 1300 major universities worldwide. Below are provided some general information about the Leiden Ranking.
CWTS provides a service to the scientific community by making available high-quality information on the scientific performance of universities. The Leiden Ranking does not consider the performance of universities in terms of teaching. The Leiden Ranking is based on bibliographic data on scientific publications, in particular on articles published in scientific journals. CWTS currently uses Web of Science as primary data source.
